LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE PART TWO
It has been three months since I wrote about leaving your comfort zone. Getting out there and taking that first step that always leads to the next step and the next step and in the end that it will be okay and completely worth it.
Well… I was right. My half-marathon went very well. We finished at a decent time (2:36) and enjoyed the sights along the way. But the journey to then had its ups and downs. We pushed through bloody toes, hurt Achilles and experimenting with food and pre-run supplements. Crossing the finish line was so rewarding and felt surreal when we think back to what we had just accomplished.
The same can be said about taking the first step into a creative agency. I’ve had my ups and downs on every project. I’ve watched my ideas be completely re-worked and other ideas given the “go-ahead.” But every time I cross that finish line of a project it feels so rewarding. It’s surreal to see my work in museums, on websites and printed right in front of me.
Leaving my comfort zone in two completely different subjects has been so beneficial to who I am and what I can do. I’ve learned so much and can honestly say I’m excited to see what else I can learn and what else I can do the next time I leave my comfort zone.
As a send-off, I request that you put yourself into a situation where you’re forced to ask… “What did I just get myself into?”
