I often find myself thinking, “What did I get myself into?”

The most recent occasion was telling my fiancé that I would run a half-marathon with her. Now, it must be known that I haven’t done any serious cardio since September when I completed a Century. The run is roughly 3 months away and I have totaled up about 4 miles in training. Fortunately for me, I have past running experience as well as a high level of motivation but I’m still freaking out about running 13.1-miles. That’s a long way to go!

Needless to say, I have to get my act together when it comes to my cardio problems.

Another occasion was when I first joined Crux a few months back. I have built up plenty of copywriting, design and social media experience but in a different setting than an agency.

Fortunately for me, the creative agency I just joined loves to be out of their comfort zone. This is what boosts creativity. Thinking outside the box and designing graphics out of the ordinary is what makes Crux who it is.

So what does this all mean?

It means you should put yourself out there… get out of your comfort zone.

Yes, I have run a lot in my past, but not a 13.1-mile race. Yes, I have marketing experience but not in an agency.

Take that first step and it will lead to another and then another and I promise you’ll be ok just like I’ll be ok with my race and contributing creative work for Crux.
